About SANTA MUERTE:
SANTA MUERTE is comprised of Houston-based artists Sines and Panchitron, who through their productions offer up a pallet of guttural darkness that oscillates between sensual perreo and a frenetic mix of hyperactive grime vibes. Highlighting the duo’s aura is the name of the act, Santa Muerte; Mexico’s cult of Holy Death and a reference to the worship of an underground goddess of death and the dead.
From trap and hip-hop to dark dembow, Sines and Panchitron embrace an inclusive encounter of music cultures. Encompassing various factors ranging from visual aesthetics to the sound itself, Santa Muerte is more than music; it’s an expression of the everyday mosaic of subcultures in the United States.
About LOS VICIOS DE PAPÁ:
Los Vicios de Papá is a high energy Latin ska fusion band with socially conscious lyrics stemming from their struggling and undocumented youth experience. What started with a passion for ska/reggae and has evolved into an 8 piece band that arranges Cumbia, Dancehall, Huapachon, Hip Hop, Reggae and Ska creating an intoxicating mix that ignites fans into a dance-frenzy.
Los Vicios de Papá was born out of a crumbling public education system and failing immigration policy in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. Their music responds to these systemic and unjust inequities by creating an upbeat way out.
About CUMBIASAZO:
Chicago’s sporadic & nomadic Cumbia & Global Bass gathering, since 2011.
