Michael Pisaro’s “Concentric Rings in Magnetic Levitation” is an evening-length work for 3 musicians, consisting of several rings (or loops) of sounds that are wound around each other, interacting to create a dense counterpoint of contemplative sound. The work will feature Chris Narloch playing piano and sine tones, Chris Sies on percussion, and Isaac Stevenson on laptop and electronic objects.
The program will begin with a new sound installation by Isaac Stevenson, pulling from a large collection of field recordings made with Pisaro’s music in mind.
