SHUBUKAI SPRING RECITAL with Toyoaki Shamisen

Japanese Classical Dance and LIVE Music

For the past 40 years, as one of Chicago’s traditional cultural arts icons, Shubukai (formerly Fujima Ryu of Chicago), has been providing a community platform for the presentation of Japanese Classical Dance. Shubukai presents the Spring Recital with its shamisen (Japanese 3-stringed lute) ensemble, Toyoaki Shamisen.  Both collaborative and separate repertoire will be performed, perpetuating the legacy for performing arts diaspora here in the Midwest.
