This Saxophone Kills Fascists is the new project of Arrington de Dionyso (Old Time Relijun, Malaikat dan Singa). It channels the energy of Spiritual Free Jazz in search of new forms and directions for contemporary PROTEST MUSIC. Abstraction in music as RESISTANCE. Not preaching to the converted, but here to offer prayer, strength and medicine for difficult times.
Andrew Clinkman is a young guitarist with a stunningly large vocabulary and concern for timbre and raw tones that guide his improvisations. Beautiful and curious chord voicings juxtaposed with mental-break-down solos, Clinkman turns guitar playing into a twisted game. In one second a delightful melodic expression will drop a listener on their dome as he rips away from homebase in a chunky, raw, concise clamber. His tape “The Joy of Cooking” came out in 2015 on Lake Paradise. Andrew has curated at ESS and is also a true authority on Prefab Sprout
Curt Oren is a saxophonist, our own DIY Colin Stetson, who lived a nomadic tour life with his kitchenaid in tow, baking cookies for every show. He has recently settled in Chicago. Curt is a frequent collaborator, appearing on recent albums by Juan Wauters and Crown Larks. Do you know about Curt’s new hat?
wrtch is the solo noise and soundscape project of Ambrosia Bartosekulva, based in Chicago by way of Seattle. Her music attempts to understand and resonate with the innermost wounding of existence inside the solace of self.
