***THE KID FEST***
Kid Fest (Wolcott at Chicago) is the ultimate fest-within-a-fest, which runs on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 pm (no additional admittance fee). This year Kid Fest is being organized by West Fest local school benefactor Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy. Kid Fest will feature many popular activities including train rides, bouncy houses, bean bag toss, ring toss, balloon darts, football toss, bottle toss, photo booth and an obstacle course. The Kid Fest Stage offers a fun family friendly lineup from a who’s who of Chicago’s children entertainers. 100% of the proceeds raised by Kid Fest benefit Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy.
***THE PET FEST***
Pet Fest is yet another fan favorite fest-within-a-fest, this one dedicated to dog activities for charity and pet-related retail vendors. Well behaved dogs, which are allowed on leashes at West Fest, are invited to ‘woof’ it up all weekend here. This annual event raises funds for local animal rescues by hosting various dog activities as well as a charity dog wash. Pooches can express their inner animal creativity with paw painting, bandana tie-dying, basic training from local dog trainers, and more. Canine Crews is the organizer and sponsor of Pet Fest.
There is a $5 donation requested for entry to West Fest. The West Town Chamber is the primary benefactor and producer of the festival. 20% of the net proceeds from the festival benefit local public schools Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy and Mitchell Elementary School.
