WORKSHOP: Juliet Fraser

Toolbox: An Informal Workshop On Writing For The Voice. 

In the first half of the workshop, JULIET FRASER will lay out her guidelines to writing for the voice and use a selection of scores to explore and debate notational practices in contemporary vocal writing; in the second half, she will run a ‘surgery’, looking at works-in-progress submitted by Chicago-based composers. The workshop will end with a short Q&A session.

Composers wishing to participate in the surgery should submit their scores/sketches to Adam Vida at adam@ess.org by Friday April 14, 2017. Please note: due to time constraints, Juliet will make a selection of four or five scores.
