The mission of IYCAF is to promote the development of Yoruba art and culture as it relates to contemporary arts practices in the African Diaspora. The foundation will:

* develop programs specifically designed to augment current school curriculum with both introductory and comprehensive studies of Yoruba culture

* facilitate professional artist development

* acquire resources for artist development

* stimulate public debate and increase awareness of the impact of Yoruba culture on the history and art of the Americas.
