Caili O’Doherty and Caroline Davis started playing together in New York in 2014, as both their respective journeys took them to a city with one of the nation’s most vibrant jazz scenes. Caili is a native Oregonian who has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Kimmel Center, Panama Jazz Festival, and Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. She released her debut album entitled Padme in 2015, comprised of nine original compositions. Caroline was born to European parents but calls the U.S. her home, and she has shared musical moments with Matt Wilson, Ellis Marsalis, Bobby Broom, Greg Saunier, Matt Mitchell, Ron Miles, Dennis Carroll, Erin McKeown, Randy Brecker, and Billy Kaye. Caroline’s 2nd album, Doors: Chicago Storylines, is an audio documentary that uniquely sets stories from Chicago’s jazz scene from the ’80s and ’90s alongside her original music.
