Quenchers
19 Nov 2015
Straddling Bucktown and Logan Square on the corner of Western and Fullerton, Quenchers is a bar that wants to abate your beer craving at all costs. The beer list, mostly in bottles and cans, is massive, broken down by country of origin on a giant chalkboard. Different daily specials, including $1 cans on Mondays, keep things economical, and Malört lovers will note the $3 shot special every day.
To keep you thirsty, Quenchers offers free popcorn, and if you want something heavier, there’s always the tater-tot pizza. Specialty sandwiches, more pizzas, and even more tots round out the menu—not many healthy options to be found. For musical entertainment, the bar—going strong since 1979—brings in bunches of local rock (and a few jazz) bands as well as a handful of small touring artists. The sound can be hit or miss in the music room, but if it’s crowded and the band isn’t doing it for you, escape to the enclosed back patio for some fresh air.
